Save the Nolan Hill Wetlands Inquiry (adapted from Alberta Assessment Consortium)

Working with a partner. Put together a multi-media/ digital presentation to persuade city council to put a halt on the building of a proposed town-housing development in Ms. Pearson's area, Nolan Hill.
You will need to gather and share information about Wetlands so that you can save the Nolan Hill Wetland!
Make sure that you explain the following:
1. what are the different kinds of Wetlands and why are they important?
2. the plant life in each,
3. the animal life in each,
4. the importance of Wetlands,
5. how human actions affect Wetlands?
6. why the wetlands need to be preserved?

7. what are your sources?

Can you solve Mr. K's Math problem?

The Grade 3/4 students are building bridges to cover a 1 meter span between two desks. They are using popsicle sticks that are 8 cm long and stir sticks that are 11 cm long. However, they need to glue the pieces together so there is a 1 cm overlap. How many will they need to cover the span?
